Biography

Mr. Philip Romano is a Co-Founder & serves as General Partner at Scientific Health Development. In addition, he is an investor, entrepreneur, artist, and internationally renowned restaurateur. He has been an active venture capital investor for over 20 years concentrating on healthcare-related industries. He was the sole outside investor and business executive of the company responsible for inventing the Palmaz stent, which was named one of the "10 Patents that Changed the World" by IP Worldwide in 2002. The stent market grew from non-existent to an over $8 billion industry. He has also been named to the Texas Business Hall of Fame. In addition, he and Dr. Palmaz formed another company resulting in a successful licensing transaction with Johnson & Johnson.
