Biography

Dr. Sandeep Bhadra serves as a General Partner at Vertex Ventures US. He serves as a Board Member at Orkes. He serves as a Board Member at RAD Security. He also serves as Board Member at Tulip, and Forestry Broker Buddha. He served as a Board Member at Bellhop and Broker Buddha. He joined Vertex in 2017 and focuses primarily on cloud infrastructure, data-driven business applications, and cybersecurity. At 21, as a freshly minted electrical engineer, he helped set up and operate India's first WiFi hotspot and felt how transformative technology could be for business users, how hard infrastructure was to operate at scale, and how demanding business buyers could be. Most recently, he was a Principal at Menlo Ventures where he focused on investments in infrastructure and data/machine-learning-driven applications investments there including Platform9, Signifyd, Unravel Data and Clarifai. Prior to that, he was with Cisco's Corporate Development team learning how a market leader uses inorganic strategies to grow and transform itself. While there he worked on Cisco's investments in MapR, Platfora, Moogsoft, and acquisitions of Metacloud, tail-f, and Memoir Systems. He holds both a B.Tech from IIT Madras and a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in Electrical Engineering, and an MBA from INSEAD.
