Biography

Mr. Daniel Karp serves as Partner at Cervin Ventures. Mr. Karp served as a Board Observer at Rookout. He is an Angel Investor. He previously worked at Microsoft across roles in strategy, business development, and product management with the Azure team and the company's internal incubation projects arm, the Startup Business Group, as part of the firm's research subsidiary, Microsoft Research. He joined Cisco Business Development in 2013 and is currently focused on investment and acquisition opportunities in Israel. Before coming to Cisco, he was a Senior Strategy Manager at Microsoft, where he was responsible for the strategy of Microsoft's Startup Business Group (Microsoft's internal Incubation projects arm), and Microsoft Research, focusing on areas such as NUI, Communications, and Collaboration, Robotics, 3D Printing, and Machine Learning. Before that, he worked as a Product Manager and Product Marketing Manager at Microsoft's Windows Azure (Public Cloud). Before Microsoft, he worked as a Venture Capital Associate at Amiti Capital and held various engineering roles at Comsys Communications (acquired by Intel) and Saifun Semiconductors (acquired by Spansion). He is a Board Member at OwnID and a board observer at Lightytics. His previous investments include Isovalent, Gong.io, Habana Labs, GuardiCore, MemVerge, TriggerMesh, Sealights, Rookout, LightBits Labs, illusive Networks, Elastifile, Prospera, Stratoscale, Ctera, Celeno, Jungo Connectivity, QWILT, and Innovid. He earned a BS in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, from Tel-Aviv University, an MBA from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business, and is a graduate of an Elite Telecommunications Unit in the Israeli Defense Forces.
