Biography

Mr. Jonathan Duarte serves as Managing Director & Head of LAC Advisory at CrossBoundary. He Co-Founded and served as the Chief Executive Officer & Financial Advisor at Escala Educación. He also served as Senior Associate at Elevar Equity. He joined Elevar in 2014 and works with the following companies: GloboKasNet, Caja Rural Los Andes, and Union Andina. He works out of our Bogota Office and focuses on our Latin American investments. He believes that "the real opportunity in emerging markets lies with communities who have not been served by the traditional players. Supporting entrepreneurs with innovative ways to support these communities will unlock an unprecedented amount of value. Being part of this process is extremely exciting and rewarding". Prior to Elevar, He worked at the Monitor Group as a strategy consultant and led engagements across multiple industries including financial services, healthcare, and retail in the United States and Brazil. In addition, He worked at the Social Investment Bank in Colombia supporting the structuring of impact funds for the region and spent some time in GE Energy and the Marathon Oil Company. He has a passion for entrepreneurship and supports the development of the ecosystem in LatAm. He holds a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
