Biography

Mr. Samir Malviya serves as an Advisor at Social Venture Fund. Mr. Malviya served as Principal at Unitus Impact. Before joining Unitus Impact, he worked at Developing World Markets, an impact fund based in New York. At DWM, he originated debt and equity transactions for microfinance institutions based in SE Asia and Latin America. Prior to DWM, he completed a 20 month fellowship with Lok Capital, an impact fund based in New Delhi, India. During the fellowship, he worked in the finance department of Ujjivan Financial Services, one of India's largest microfinance institutions based in Bangalore. While at Ujjivan, he was responsible for all budgeting and business planning as well as raising capital for the company. He also worked as a financial analyst in the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs in Chicago before his fellowship with Lok Capital. He returned to Unitus Impact after working at the firm as an MBA Summer Associate in 2012. During business school, he was also the Co-Director of the UM Social Venture Fund, one of the first purely student-run impact funds in the world. He served as a Board Member at Leaf. He holds an MBA in Social Entrepreneurship from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics and Political Science from Northwestern University.
