Biography

Ms. Bharti Harie serves as Independent Non-executive Chairman at Ascendis Health. Ms. Harie served as Board Member at Mineworkers Investment Company. She was appointed as a nonexecutive director to the MIC Board in April 2013. Ms. Harie worked at the IDC for 14 years until August 2010, when she founded and managed the Corporate Funding Department in 2003 (the unit responsible for raising all of IDC's debt) and in 2006 managed the International Finance Department. She is a seasoned director with over 10 years of experience, gaining valuable insights into board deliberations relating to shareholder/stakeholder relations; traversing tough economic times, and of late, black swan events such as Covid-19 and how businesses are now planning in a recovery phase. She presently serves as an independent non-executive on the following boards, where she also is chairman of various sub-committees (Remco, Audit, and Social and Ethics). She has previously served as Lead Independent Non-Executive Director of Ascendis Health Limited. She holds a BA LLB (Natal) & LLM (Wits) - she is an Admitted Attorney, Notary, and Conveyancer.
