Biography

Mr. Anthony Miller serves as Managing Partner at Excolere Equity Partners. He serves as a Board Member at Apollo Education Group. He serves as a Board Member at ACT, GoGuardian, and Criteria. He served as Co-Founding Partner and Chief Operating Officer at The Vistria Group. He was involved in all aspects of Vistria's business including investment sourcing, investment management, fundraising, and firm management. Before launching The Vistria Group, he was the Deputy Secretary and Chief Operating Officer at the U.S. Department of Education. In his role, he oversaw day-to-day operations for the broad range of management, policy, and program functions that comprise the ~$77 billion Cabinet-level agency's operations. In addition to his operational responsibilities, he represented the U.S. Government at various education and workforce development international forums pertaining to China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Ecuador, Brazil, and Russia. Prior to his Presidential Appointment, he spent his entire career in the private sector. He was a Director with Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing, with over $12 billion in combined assets under management. Before joining Silver Lake, he was Executive Vice President of Operations at LRN, a market-leading provider of governance, risk, compliance, and ethics eLearning software products and services. Before taking on an operating executive role, he was a Partner with McKinsey & Company, serving healthcare and technology companies throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia. He received his undergraduate degree from Purdue University and M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business where he completed his studies at Stanford's Japan Center for Technology and Innovation. He serves on the Board of Chicago's Academy of Urban School Leadership and the Hope Street Group, a national nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to expanding economic opportunity and prosperity for all Americans.
