Biography

Ms. Lilly Farahnakian serves as Managing Director, Legal and Compliance, Global Chief Compliance Officer, and Member of the Enterprise Risk Management and Operations Committees at GCM Grosvenor. She also serves as Managing Director and Global Chief Compliance Officer at Grosvenor Private Markets. She leads the firm's Compliance Team and is responsible for ensuring that the firm maintains compliance with various federal, state, and international regulations. Prior to joining GCM Grosvenor, from 2010 to 2014, she was a Managing Director and Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase. During this time, she was also Head of Regulatory and Compliance functions for Research, Americas Investment Banking, Americas Control Room, and Disclosure of Interest. From 2006 to 2010, she was an Executive Director in Legal at Morgan Stanley, where she advised its Global Research Department on legal and compliance issues. From 2003 to 2006, she practiced as an in-house litigator and Assistant General Counsel at JPMorgan Chase, covering sales and trading, investment banking, research, and retail. She began her legal career as a litigation associate at Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP in 1999. Ms. Farahnakian graduated with distinction, Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French. She was also a Morehead-Cain Scholar. She received her Juris Doctor from Yale University in 1999. Ms. Farahnakian is a member of the Illinois Bar and the New York Bar.
