Biography

Mr. Anay Shah serves as Co-Founder & General Partner at Stepchange Ventures. He also serves as a Venture Partner at Rally Cap VC. He is passionate about leveraging technology to alleviate economic injustice and ensure the planet is flourishing for future generations. He is currently a Co-founder & Partner at Stepchange - an early-stage climate tech fund. Most recently, He was the SVP for Global Business at Tala, a global fintech startup delivering digital financial services to the underbanked in emerging markets. He led a global team of 250+ people and was responsible for the P&L, strategy, and operations across Tala's markets. Before Tala, He was a Regional Director at Remitly (NASDAQ: RELY), a digital payments company serving immigrants sending money internationally. As the 10th employee at Remitly, He wore multiple hats including helping lead Product and Int'l Expansion, launching the first 12 new countries. No stranger to emerging markets, He previously led partnerships for d.light design in India, a global off-grid solar startup. He began his career with the US State Department, driving public-private partnerships across 13 countries for USAID. He earned an MBA from Stanford's Graduate School of Business and a BA in International Politics from Wesleyan University.
