Biography

Mr. Ralph Hardy served as Partner at Venable. His practice focuses on structuring, negotiating and financing media, high-tech, energy-related, pulp and paper and other complex transactions. In addition, he represents clients with public policy, regulatory and related business issues in their dealings with Congress, the Executive Branch and independent regulatory agencies, in particular, the Federal Communications Commission and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Hardy has served on a number of boards of directors and boards of trustees for both for-profit and nonprofit entities. While in private practice, he has spent many years as an officer and director of First Media Corporation, a privately-owned investment holding and the broadcasting company he co-founded with the Marriott family. Mr. Hardy is also the founding chairman of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society, a 15,000 member, a 25-year-old worldwide association of Mormon attorneys, members of the judiciary, and law students. He is a member of the National Advisory Council of the University of Utah.
