Biography

Mr. Marcus Smith served as President at GreenVenus. He also serves as Senior Managing Director, General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer at Third Security. He also serves as President at GreenVenus. He joined Third Security upon its inception and has since been principally responsible for legal matters and transaction execution. Mr. Smith currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Fibrocell Science, Inc. (NYSE MKT: FCSC) since October 2012. In connection with his work for Third Security, Mr. Smith has served in various other capacities, including as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of New River Pharmaceuticals Inc. from August 1996 until April 2004, as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of General Injectables & Vaccines, Inc. between 1994 and 1998 and as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and member of the Board of Directors of GIV Holdings, Inc. between 1996 and 1998. Previously he was an attorney in the legal departments of The Southland Corporation and Occidental Oil & Gas Corporation. Mr. Smith received a B.B.A. and a J.D. from the University of Georgia.
