Biography

Mr. John Formisano serves as a Venture Partner at Motus Ventures. He serves as an Advisor at Locomotion. He serves as Advisor & Board Member at MightyFly. Mr. Formisano was responsible for Reyes Holdings vehicle strategy development and implementation as President of Reyes Fleet Management. Reyes deploys a fleet of over 10,000 units of refrigerated heavy trucks and related material handling equipment. Previously he was Executive Director and Co-Chairman of the Electrification Leadership Council, Chairman of the Board for Calstart, Board of Directors member for Azure Dynamics, and an advisory board member to startup companies in the vehicle space. Mr. Formisano was Vice President of Global Vehicle Operations with FedEx Express from October 2003 until May 2010 where he was responsible for all aspects of vehicle strategy development and execution, including but not limited to Vehicle and Airport Ground Support Equipment selection, sourcing, maintenance, and disposal. Mr. Formisano had full expense and capital budget responsibility, supporting 96,000 units. He developed and implemented the Fleet Plan for FedEx Express, including the alternative fuel vehicle strategy. Hired as an Industrial Engineer, during his 27-year tenure with FedEx, he held the positions of VP for Global Vehicles; VP, Regional Operations, Managing Director, District Operations Managing Director, Regional Planning & Administration, and Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering. He earned his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University and also completed an Executive Development Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
