James Neate General Information

Biography

Mr. James Neate serves as Executive Vice President, International Corporate and Commercial Banking at Bank of Nova Scotia. He serves as President and Group Head of Corporate & Investment Banking at Scotiabank Global Banking and Markets. He has responsibility for the overall strategic direction of the Bank's International Corporate and Commercial Banking business line. His focus is on strategy, business development and risk management, as well as regulatory and compliance issues. He was appointed to this position on December 1, 2015. Since joining Scotiabank in 1985, Mr. Neate has progressed through various positions in areas including retail banking, commercial banking, and wealth management. He led a specialized equipment leasing subsidiary of the Bank, as Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, he held the position of Senior Vice President, Corporate and Commercial Banking, International. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Political Science at McMaster University and completed the Ivey Executive Program at the Richard Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario. Mr. James Neate serves as President and Group Head, Corporate & Investment Banking at Scotiabank.
