Biography

Dr. Jeffrey Duerk Co-Founded Interventional Imaging. Dr. Duerk is a full-tenured professor at Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, in biomedical engineering and radiology. He is also Director of Physics Research in the Department of Radiology at University Hospitals of Cleveland. He has published approximately 100 peer-reviewed manuscripts, over 15 chapters and invited papers and over 150 peer-reviewed abstracts, primarily related to the physics and technology of magnetic resonance imaging. He holds 6 patents, with 15 pending, and most are associated with I3-related technologies. He came to Case Western Reserve University for Picker International (a part of Philips Medical Systems), one of the MRI OEM vendors. While at Picker, he specialized in the development of MRI image acquisition techniques, with special emphasis on the effects of motion within or during the MRI scan. He holds a BS degree from Purdue University, MS degree from The Ohio State University, and PhD degree from Case Western Reserve University.
