Biography

Mr. Richard Plumpton served as Counsel at Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi. He regularly advises clients on the complex issues that arise in connection with the implementation and administration of ERISA-qualified plans, including helping to bring plans into compliance with legislative and regulatory changes. His experience includes drafting, reviewing and amending qualified pension plans, profit-sharing plans, 401(k) plans, employee welfare benefit plans and cafeteria plans, as well as the submission of plans to the Internal Revenue Service. He also advises clients on the impact and implementation of changes required under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Richard also provides benefits-related counsel in connection with corporate transactions, including asset sales, stock sales, bankruptcy workouts and others. Prior to becoming an attorney, Richard worked directly in various benefits and claims capacities and applies that experience and knowledge to his legal practice. Before joining Wolff & Samson, Richard was counsel at Lowenstein Sandler in Roseland, New Jersey.
