Biography

Ms. Huda Al Lawati is the Founder & serves as Chief Executive Officer at Aliph Capital. She served as a Partner at Gateway Partners. She also served as an Advisor for Global Ventures (Dubai). She also serves as Board Member at Hala (Financial Software). Earlier, she serves as Chief Investment Officer at Savola Group. She was a Partner and Chief Investment Officer at The Abraaj Group. She has more than ten years of experience in private equity and finance. At The Abraaj Group, she is a member of the investment team responsible for structuring, executing, and post-acquisition management and monitoring of transactions across the private equity family of funds. She has completed several transactions at The Abraaj Group, developing strong experience in a number of industries including oil & gas, shipping, and healthcare. She has been leading The Abraaj Group's oil and gas initiatives, including the acquisition of Viking oilfield services, and the Group's investment in Kuwait Energy; she worked on acquiring Acibadem, and she has been responsible for Stanford Marine Group since 2008. She started her career in 2001 with Schlumberger in Muscat, Oman, where she managed the fiscal accounts and tax audits of its subsidiaries and branches in Oman. She joined ABQ Zawya in 2003, where she developed and implemented the business plan and strategy for a regionally focused online financial portal. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Economics (Honors) from Brown University.
