Biography

Mr. George Sorenson served as Board Member at Sanchuan Energy Development Company. Mr. George Sorenson served as Partner at Inventiv Capital Management. He serves as Board Member at Sanchuan Energy Development Company. He was a Co-Founder and served as Partner, Chairman, and Member of the Investment Committee at FE Global Clean Energy. He has devoted the past 21 years to originating, structuring, negotiating, and executing direct equity investments in electric, gas, water, and telecommunications utilities in emerging markets throughout Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, and Latin America. Prior to founding FE, he was co-founder and chairman of FondElec Group, Inc., a private equity firm specializing in Latin American utility investments. In his role at FondElec Group and then FE, he led the formation and management of four investment funds totaling more than $246 million. Prior to co-founding FondElec Group in 1992, he spent more than eight years based in Asia as First Vice President and regional head of high-yield finance and capital markets product origination and placement for Drexel Burnham Lambert. He also served in a similar capacity as a Director at Bear Stearns. While at Drexel, he was involved in structuring financing for Japanese investors for Midland Cogen Ventures, a gas-fired conversion of a newly built but not operated nuclear power plant in Midland Michigan. Midland Cogen was the largest co-generation facility built in the United States up to that time. He also coordinated the origination and structuring of floating rate notes and yen-based bond offerings for Coastal Corporation, RJR Nabisco, Enron, and MCI Corporation to name a few. H currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Sanchuan Energy Development Co. Ltd., a hydroelectric business with more than 350 MW of operating hydroelectric plants in southwestern China, Eagle Valley Clean Energy LLC, an 11.5 MW biomass plant in Colorado, and Swasti Power Engineering Limited, a hydroelectric business located in India. He has also served on the Board of Directors of Elektrocieplownia Gorlice Spolka Z.o.o., a combined heating and power facility that furnishes steam for the municipality of Gorlice, Poland, Ambuthirtha Power Private Limited, a hydroelectric company located in Bangalore India, San Carlos Bioenergy, an ethanol producer in the Philippines, Empresas de Entre Rios, an electric distribution company located in the province of Entre Rios in Argentina and Lightning Dock Geothermal in New Mexico. He has a B.A. degree in Finance from the University of Utah, and a Master's in International Management from the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Glendale, Arizona.
