Biography

Ms. Alex-Handrah Aimé is an Angel Investor. She served as Board Member at Maarifa Education. Ms. Aimé served as Managing Director & Head at Emerging Capital Partners & Board Member at Wananchi Group. She is responsible for identifying, analyzing, and recommending investments and for managing investment appraisals, transaction execution, portfolio monitoring, and exits. Prior to joining ECP in 2008, Ms. Aimé was with Goldman Sachs International in London in the European Special Situations Group where she focused on Sub-Saharan Africa proprietary trading investment opportunities. She was previously in the Investment Banking Division as part of the Financial Institutions Group where she advised clients on mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions in the banking, insurance, and asset management sectors. While at Goldman Sachs, Ms. Aimé executed a number of multi-billion dollar deals in the UK and Europe and in emerging markets including Egypt, South Africa, Turkey, and the UAE. Ms. Aimé started her career as a strategy consultant with Mercer Management Consulting (now Oliver Wyman), where she worked on engagements in various industries including financial institutions, retail, and transportation and logistics. Ms. Aimé obtained an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a JD with distinction from Stanford Law School. She graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a bachelor's degree in biochemistry. Ms. Aimé is admitted to practice law in New York State. She is a citizen of Haiti and of the US. She has served on the board of Java House (Kenya). She is also a Board Member at Java House.
