Biography

Mr. John Mumo serves as a Partner at Blakeney Management. He also served as an Associate at Emerging Capital Partners. He covers and monitors Eastern and Southern African portfolio investments as well as potential investments. This includes conducting financial and operational due diligence on potential investments, financial modeling, and analysis as well as participating in all aspects of the execution process. With seven funds and over $2 billion under management, ECP is a leading private equity manager focused exclusively on Africa. ECP has seven offices across Africa and over a decade of investing experience in companies operating in over 45 countries on the continent. Before joining ECP in 2010, he spent two years at Citigroup's Investment Bank in New York in the Health Care Group where he worked on mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings for life science, health care service, and medical device companies. He graduated with dual bachelor's degrees in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Economics & Business from Lafayette College in Easton, PA.
