Biography

Dr. Darryl Wilkerson serves as Partner, Chief Operating Officer & Operating Partner at Acorn Capital Management. He served as President and Chief Executive Officer at Commuter Air Technology. Prior to his appointment as a partner, chief operating officer, and member of the capital management team in 2020, he served with distinction as the President and CEO of Acorn Growth Companies' Integrated Defense Group. His previous professional experience includes honorable service in the United States Air Force and senior leadership roles within the national security portfolios of Raytheon E-Systems, Teledyne Brown Engineering, and L-3 Communications. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Black Sage Technologies. Posterior to his current position he served in advanced programs, program management, and business development roles at Teledyne Brown Engineering and L-3 Communications. He has extensive experience managing systems engineering and integration, modeling and simulation, LRIP manufacturing, contractor logistics, and field service operations in support of U.S. and foreign government and commercial customers. He began his aerospace career in 1978 with honorable service in the U.S. Air Force. He currently serves as a member of the National Defense Industrial Association, Air Force Association, USAF Logistics Officer Association, Army Aviation Association of America, Association of the US Army, National Contract Management Association, and the University of Oklahoma Chapter of the Gamma Beta Phi Society. He earned his doctorate from the Cook School of Business at Columbia International University.
