Geoff Blount General Information

Biography

Mr. Geoff Blount serves as Chief Executive Officer at Cannon Asset Managers. Geoff has taken on the role of Head of Cannon Private Clients after a joint venture between Cannon and Citadel was initiated in 2014. After completing his degree, he lectured Corporate Finance in Wits University's Business Economics department. He subsequently worked as an equity dealer at Societe Generale Frankel Pollak (the precursor SG Securities and later Sasfin Securities) and later became a private-client portfolio manager at SGFP. Geoff then moved to BoE Private Bank as a portfolio manager and, in 1999, joined the Investment Solutions investment team, where he developed and headed their manager research team. Over the next 10 years, Investment Solutions assets under management grew from R4bn to R180bn to become the largest multi-manager in South Africa. In 2008 Geoff joined Cannon as Managing Director.
