Biography

Mr. Harry Hearnden serves as Chief Metallurgist at FerroChrome Furnaces. Harry has been a pyrometallurgist for some thirty years. He started his career in an R&D environment at MINTEK, moving to Middelburg Steel and Alloys and then onto Billiton where he was the Metallurgical Services Manager for Samancor. He was later employed by Silicon Smelters where he gained experience as the Production Superintendent and Acting Production Manager. While working in the Pyrometallurgy division at Bateman Projects Harry specialised in Granulation and Pyrometallurgical processes. He was also appointed as Technical Sales and Marketing Engineer at Tenova Pyromet and then as a granulation specialist at MDM Engineering. He is currently the Chief Metallurgist at Ferrochrome Furnaces in charge of the laboratory functions and process metallurgy.
