Biography

Dr. Alan Levine served as Chief Scientific Officer & Director, Family Cord Blood Bank at CORD:USE Cord Blood Bank. Prior to joining CORD:USE, Dr. Levine had a highly successful 25 year career with the National Institutes of Health, where he was most recently the Director of the Blood Disease Program of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute ("NHLBI"). In this capacity, Dr. Levine was responsible for initiating the bone marrow and umbilical cord blood transplant programs at the NHLBI. He has received numerous honors and awards in recognition of his success in directing national multicenter programs in hematology research. Dr. Levine received his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Delaware and his B. S. from Monmouth University.
