Biography

Mr. Gilles Lafleuriel serves as Partner & Head of Sweden, Private Equity Team at Obligo Group. He serves as Board Member at Eagle Wind JV. Mr. Lafleuriel served as Director at Infranode. He has spent the last 15 years holding management positions in the utility sector and more specifically in the power industry as an engineer and business developer. From 1999 to 2007, Gilles contributed to the ambitious nuclear and thermal development program of Electricité de France in France, Mexico and China. As head of the Energy business, he then helped Ekium, a medium sized French engineering consultancy to open, manage and develop large accounts in the electricity sector. Attracted by the boiling activity in the European power transmission landscape, in 2011 he joined Elia, the Belgian high voltage grid operator. As a Director in the international business development team, he focused not only on the growth of Elia's consultancy practice but also on the origination and execution of investment opportunities for the Group in Europe and the Middle East. Wearing a strategic hat, he essentially explored the acquisition of greenfield and brownfield assets and the merger with other large power system operators in Central Western Europe. Gilles first graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. 10 years later, he went back to school to study business and finance at INSEAD where he took his MBA in France and Singapore.
