Biography

Mr. John Manwell serves as Chief Operating Officer & Board Member at LivFul. Previously, he served as Managing Director LivFul Innovation UK and Chief Technical Officer at LivFul. He served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President at GBDbio. He has a strong background in corporate leadership and team building over the past 25 years, within technical and general management settings. He graduated with a physics degree from Imperial College in London and began his career within the aerospace industry developing novel fiber-optic sensors within a start up division of Schlumberger Industries. He later became the UK Technical Manager for Schlumberger Industries Metering. In his roles in Schlumberger and later as General Manager of the Metering business within United Utilities, John was responsible for technology development, business performance and ISO 9000 certified quality management systems. Prior to joining GBDbio, John worked with numerous organizations including 'blue chip' and start up ventures, helping to develop leadership skills and team development. He is passionate about enabling people and developing businesses which have a positive social impact. John has worked in an international role within a number of businesses and charitable boards in the USA, UK and other nations. He is the co-founder of a regional business network within the United Kingdom and has helped to develop several charitable boards. He is currently active in Together for the Harvest, a network of churches in the North West of England, as well as providing non-executive guidance for several community and inner city organizations.
