Marc Hirshman JD General Information

Biography

Mr. Marc Hirshman is a Co-Founder and serves as President & Principal at Twain Financial Partners. He also served as a General Partner at Cultivation Capital. He was a Senior Vice President and Director of the Tax Credit Syndications and New Business Development Teams at US Bank Community Development Corporation. In these capacities, he oversaw a team of 11 professionals responsible for the syndication of tax credit portfolios to third-party corporate investors, innovation through the exploration of new business opportunities and review of current business models and coverage of non-core business issues. The syndication portfolio consisted of more than $2 billion of syndicated transactions with over 20 investors utilizing all four of the major tax credit asset classes. Previous positions within US Bank CDC include Director of the NMTC/HTC, Renewable Energy Production group where he oversaw a team of 20+ employees investing approximately $1 billion annually in over 100 transactions; head of the Business Development team structuring transactions originating in the Midwest and Southeast region, and working to educate borrowers, lenders and other associated parties about the Historic and New Markets Tax Credit programs; Director of Asset Management and as a Relationship Manager specializing in Low Income Housing Tax Credit investments. Within the industry, he has served on the boards of both the New Markets Tax Credit and Historic Tax Credit Coalitions. He held positions, over the previous six years, in various real estate companies working in both the development and management of multifamily properties. His interest in real estate was sparked after spending a year volunteering on a full-time basis with Habitat for Humanity in Georgia and North Carolina. Continuing his involvement in St. Louis he serves on the board and is board president of the St. Louis affiliate of Habitat, as well as on boards of numerous housing and economic development organizations and committees at the municipal level. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and finance from the University of Illinois and both his J.D. and LL.M. in Taxation with academic honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law.
