Biography

Mr. Partha Choudhury served as a Partner at New Leaf. Mr. Choudhury served as Managing Director at Small Enterprise Assistance Funds. He has more than twelve years of work experience, with roles in corporate finance, strategic advisory, investment banking, and private equity, working extensively with agribusiness companies throughout India. Mr. Choudhury joined SEAF in 2008 and has been involved in the structuring of the fund and related activities and in working with portfolio companies of the Fund. Prior to working with SEAF, he worked with Yes Bank's agribusiness fund management team, Rabobank's India Agribusiness Fund Ltd., Rabo India Finance Ltd., and ICICI Bank. At Yes Bank and with the Rabobank Group, Mr. Choudhury was responsible for structuring and incorporating fund entities, both at the domestic and international levels. While at Rabobank, he also worked as an advisor in business consulting and M&A departments for corporate and public institutions. At ICICI Bank, he was part of the corporate finance team and was responsible for deal origination, execution, and structuring of transactions. At ICICI, he worked on the group strategy for the agribusiness segment and was part of the team setting up an agribusiness lending division in the bank. He was involved in the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Agribusiness project finance team, where he helped manage greenfield investments in agribusiness projects. From ICICI Bank he was also delegated to be a member of the team responsible for setting up the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) in India. Mr. Choudhury holds an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, and is a Graduate of Agricultural Sciences from the Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi.
