Irving Yoskowitz JD General Information

Biography

Mr. Irving Yoskowitz serves as Operating Partner at Centre Partners. He served as Advisory Board Member at Current Capital Partners. He served as a Senior Counsel at Crowell & Moring. He is a member of the firm's Environment, Energy & Resources and Corporate groups. From 2005 until 2008, he was the executive vice president and general counsel of Constellation Energy Group (CEG). From 1981 until 1998, he was executive vice president and general counsel of United Technologies Corporation (UTC), a $37 billion global company whose best known units are Pratt & Whitney, Sikorsky, Otis Elevator, and Carrier Air Conditioning. He joined UTC in 1979 as deputy general counsel and became its general counsel in 1981. During his career at UTC, in addition to the legal department, he was responsible for functions including corporate development, environmental, health and safety, government contracts, and compliance. Prior to joining UTC, he was with IBM in various roles. Until 2010, he was a senior partner of Global Technology Partners, LLC (GTP), a consulting firm that he helped found in 1998 focusing on the aerospace, defense, and technology sectors. He previously served as a lawyer with Crowell & Moring, as a senior consultant at CRA International (formerly Charles River Associates), and was an attorney at another top law firm in Washington, D.C. He began his career as a systems analyst with the Office of the Secretary of Defense while serving as a U.S. Army officer from 1969 to 1971. He remained in the U.S. Army Reserve as a major assigned to the Office of the Secretary of the Army until 1981. He currently serves on the boards of Ross Aviation, an aerospace company, the United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation, and Bryn Mawr College. From 2009 to 2010, he was on the board of Terra Industries, until it was acquired by CF Industries. From 2005 to 2008, he was on the board of Wyle Holdings, Inc. until it was acquired by Court Square Capital. From 2006 to 2008, he was a director of Darwin Professional Underwriters, Inc., until it was acquired by Allied World. From 1998 to 2005, he was the lead independent director of Equant, NV, a global data networking company, until it was acquired by France Telecom. From 1995 until 2004, he was a non-executive director of BBA Group, plc, headquartered in London. He was a director of Executive Risk Insurance at the time Chubb acquired the company in 2000. A 1966 graduate of the City College of New York, he received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School in 1969, where he served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He was a Knox Fellow from Harvard University at the London School of Economics from 1971 to 1972.
