James Wynn General Information

Biography

Mr. James Wynn serves as Chief Marketing Officer at Oxeon Partners. James comes to Oxeon after serving for seven years as a Principal and Vice President at SYPartners, a strategy and design firm that works with Fortune 100 organizations in times of seismic change-the formulation of a new business strategy, a merger or acquisition, the rise of a new CEO, the evolution of a brand, the return-to-greatness journeys after an industry shock. At SYPartners he led work for clients ranging from telecommunications, technology, retail, and the public sector. James' projects included a purpose-led transformation for a multi-billion-dollar specialty apparel retailer leading to several record-breaking quarters of financial performance, a highly aligned board and leadership team, clarity on high-level strategic direction and on the near term goals needed to make it real, and a brand development, M&A and international growth agenda. He also led a new brand positioning and cultural transformation for a top telecommunications firm, resulting in significant improvement in NPS and other key metrics, through a new brand positioning and model, a new focus on customers and customer experience, and greater strategic alignment at the VP, SVP, and leadership team level. Prior to SYPartners, James was a Brand Director for Louis XIII & Remy Martin at Remy Cointreau for two years, and a Vice President of Retail at Porsche for three years. He has also served as the Director of Information Architecture at ITVR/Red Sky and a Managing Director of Dynamic Diagrams in London. James is an Adjunct Professor in the Products of Design Graduate Program at the School of Visual Arts. He teaches Systems, Scale, and Consequence, a graduate seminar and systems design studio that explores the life of designed products and services through the ecosystems which make them possible, valuable, or meaningful. The course is designed to encourage a team of collaborative, professional designers to conceive, explore, and articulate the scale implications of the work of designed products and services-the limits, possibilities, and opportunities professional designers have which shape the implications of their practice, and the choices they face in the pursuit of their careers. James holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from the Rhode Island School of Design and an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School.
