Biography
Mr. John Abate serves as Partner & Co-Head of Trading at Silver Point Capital. Before joining Silver Point, Mr. Abate had over 19 years of distressed trading and portfolio management experience. Mr. Abate worked at JPMorgan for eight years, where he was hired as a Managing Director and Head of Distressed Loan Trading, specifically responsible for building that business. He was eventually promoted to head of all distressed trading and all loan trading in 2005. Before working at JPMorgan, Mr. Abate worked in the Lehman Brothers Distressed Trading business from 1998 until 2000.
