Biography

Mr. Jeffrey Cheung served as Treasurer at Children's Hospital & Research Center Foundation. He served as a Partner at Dentons. He is a partner of Brandt Chan & Partners, which is associated with Dentons. Jeffrey practices in the corporate, commercial and finance areas, specializing in investment funds work and private equity investments. He is experienced in the structuring and formation of offshore investment funds and has acted for a number of investment funds in their fundraising from private and institutional investors. Most of Jeffrey's investment fund clients are private equity funds with a China focus, and he acts for these clients in the making, subsequent fundraising, restructuring, and exit of their private equity investments in China. Jeffrey also works on corporate and commercial transactional and advisory matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, securitization, banking and finance, and other related commercial and corporate matters. Recently, Jeffrey has been active in advising on a number of offering and financing transactions under the US EB-5 Immigration Investor Pilot Program. His experience includes structuring the fund entity, the offering of, and the subsequent investment in and/or financing of real estate development projects in the United States. In 2009-10, Jeffrey was recommended in the Asia Pacific Legal 500 for his corporate M&A work and in 2008-09 for his work in the investment funds area. Jeffrey also was named one of the emerging leaders from Australia based in Asia for the 2009 Advance Asia 50 Global Australians Summit. Jeffrey formerly served in the Hong Kong offices of Hammonds, Richards Butler, and Barlow Lyde & Gilbert and at Esplins Solicitors in Australia.
