Deborah Marrow Ph.D General Information

Biography

Dr. Deborah Marrow served as Director, Getty Foundation at J. Paul Getty Trust. Dr. Marrow has also held other key positions within the J. Paul Getty Trust including interim president and CEO, dean for external relations, and interim director of the Getty Research Institute. Throughout her career, she has been active in professional organizations in the fields of art history, museums, preservation, and philanthropy and has served on several nonprofit boards. She is currently a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania and a member of the board of Town Hall Los Angeles. Dr. Marrow began her career at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and later taught art history at universities in the Philadelphia area and in Southern California. She holds a B.A. cum laude and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.A. from the Johns Hopkins University.
