Anthony Grist General Information

Biography

Mr. Anthony Grist serves as Principal at Albion Capital Partners. Mr. Grist is an Angel Investor. He serves as Board Member at Minderoo Foundation. He was a Co-Founder and served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Amcom Telecommunications. He serves as Advisor at GeoMoby. He is also a Principal at Albion Capital Partners. He has extensive experience in the capital markets. He has been involved in the management of publicly listed companies across a range of industries both in Australia and overseas. He is a former Head of Corporate Finance at an Australian stockbroking company. In 1990 he founded what became Albion Capital Partners. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia, is an Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was co-founder and Chairman of ASX-listed Amcom Telecommunications Ltd. He led the recent merger with Vocus Communications helping create a major Trans-Tasman fiber optic carrier business and served as Deputy Chairman of the merged business. Until the specie distribution of its iiNet shareholding to Amcom shareholders, and the ultimate takeover of iiNet by TPG, Amcom was the largest shareholder of iiNet Ltd, Australias 2nd largest DSL internet service provider. He is a director of the PLC Foundation and a director of The Minderoo Foundation, the umbrella organization for the philanthropic programs of Andrew and Nicola Forrest. He has also held directorships in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia in the healthcare, mining, and energy industries. He has been Chair of Judging for the western region of the Ernst & Youngs Entrepreneur of the Year program, as well as serving on the national judging panel. Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year is the world's most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. It is the first and only truly global award of its kind with regional, national and global awards programs in more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Through Vocus, he has been a major sponsor of UWAs University Football Club for approximately 15 years. He is a founding partner of Vocus Upstart, one of Australia's most generous startup accelerator programs which supports a culture of innovation and intelligent risk-taking.
