Biography

Mr. Lance Black serves as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and Corporate Development at Protective Life. He has been the Treasurer of Protective Life Corporation since May 2007 and was named Senior Vice President in March 2008. Mr. Black also assumed responsibility for the Stable Value Products division in 2013. His responsibilities include capital raising and cash management for the corporate holding company, asset/liability management, asset allocation, and serving as a liaison to the line of business units for product development and asset/liability management-related issues. He previously served as the Vice President of Investment Strategy for Protective Life Corporation, a role he assumed in 2003. Prior to joining Protective, Mr. Black worked for Wachovia Corporation for 11 years and was last a Director in the Insurance Corporate and Investment Banking unit of Wachovia Securities. Mr. Black holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a Chartered Financial Analyst charter holder. He also served as Senior Vice President & Treasurer at MONY Life Insurance Company.
