Biography

Mr. Ross Moody serves as Chairman of the Board at American National Insurance Company. He also serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees at Moody Foundation. He also serves as Chairman, President, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Operating Officer at National Western Life Insurance Company. He has served as a member of the Company's Board of Directors since 1981 and as the Company's President and Chief Operating Officer since 1992. Mr. Moody will serve as the Company's interim Chief Executive Officer until the Company appoints a permanent Chief Executive Officer. Robert L. Moody, Sr., who served as Chief Executive Officer until June 19, 2015, will continue to serve as Chairman of the Board, at an annual salary of $100,000, as determined by the Company's Compensation Committee, plus benefits currently provided to him as a Company director. He is the son of Robert L. Moody, Sr., stepson of Ann M. Moody, and the brother of Russell S. Moody and Frances A. Moody-Dahlberg, each of whom serves as a director of the Company. He has no related party transactions reportable under Item 404(a) of Regulation S-K and there are no arrangements or understandings pursuant to which he was elected as President and interim Chief Executive Officer. He is a Board Member at American Natl Property & Casualty Holdings. He has worked as a Board Member at Regent Care Partner, an Officer at Westcap Holdings, and a Board Member at Westcap; - West Capital Markets. He works or has worked as a Board Member at the TRANSITIONAL LEARNING CENTER and a board member at the National Leadership Board. He studied at Harvard University and the University of Texas at Arlington.
