Biography

Mr. Howard Levine served as Lawyer and Attorney at Cypress. He is "the go-to guy" for private equity firms and other buyers of distressed assets, emerging growth companies, companies seeking restructuring or bankruptcy advice, creditors' committees, individual creditors, and other interested parties in complex legal situations. Howard is committed to providing his clients with the highest quality of legal services at a fair price and always being accessible and approachable. As a former entrepreneur who has personally hired dozens of attorneys at nationally recognized firms, Howard has a unique understanding of both sides of the attorney-client relationship and knows what it takes to consistently deliver extraordinary results. To this point, Howard believes that a lawyer who can add value by making introductions, sourcing deals and helping raise capital is a lawyer who understands what is really most important to clients. Howard also advises early-stage and emerging growth companies, with a focus on developing growth strategies, building strategic relationships, raising capital, and creating liquidity events. Howard has personally raised over $40 million of equity for early-stage companies in which he was a principal and over $100 million of debt placements for clients. Howard's industry expertise is diverse and includes healthcare, real estate, digital media and entertainment, clean tech, apparel, and automotive. Howard has successfully restructured companies in many industries and has recovered tens of millions of dollars on behalf of creditors, creditors' committees and bankruptcy trustees. Howard has served as outside general counsel for an established healthcare company, a clean tech start-up, and an Internet company. In addition, Howard also has significant experience in intellectual property licensing, business litigation and government relations. In his role as general counsel, Howard has been responsible for enacting legislation in numerous states, including, California, Texas, Florida, and he has testified before the California Senate and Assembly transportation committees.
