Biography

Mr. Jay Lipsey is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Executive Officer at Accel Associates. He served as a Partner at McCombie Group. He bringing over 15 years of experience encompassing capital markets, corporate finance and strategic consulting across a variety of industries. With personal experience working for and launching several family businesses, he understands the complex and dynamic nature of successfully running and growing closely held enterprises that can span across generations. He is passionate about leveraging his expansive background in the industry to help real people achieve ambitious business outcomes. At National City Bank (now part of PNC), he worked in their debt capital markets group, syndicating bank loans on behalf of borrowers in the manufacturing, food and beverage and aviation sectors. His team successfully marketed over $1.2 billion of bank loans, cementing their place as the most active middle-market lender in the bank's footprint. During his time at D.B. Zwirn - a $4.0 billion hedge fund focused on second-lien loans for private equity sponsored transactions - He analyzed businesses and acquisition opportunities the media, healthcare and leisure industries. He also co-led the finance department of nationwide real estate developer, managed a portfolio of distressed real estate loans for a private equity fund and most recently helped to launch the Miami office for nationwide mortgage banking firm Grandbridge Real Estate Capital. He places a high value on community engagement and is involved in numerous charitable and civic initiatives both locally and nationally. He is co-founder of the James Madison Institute Young Leaders Council and leads its South-Florida chapter. While in New York, he co-launched the Bnai Brith Real Estate Young Development Group and was instrumental in the establishment of the New York Private Equity Network's (NYPEN) real estate division. He has been recognized by the Memphis Jewish Federation and the University of Pennsylvania Health System for distinguished community service. He graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with concentrations in finance and real estate and is a member of MENSA.
