Biography

Mr. Ravid Chowdhury is the Founder and serves as Partner at RC Ventures. He serves as a Board Member at Drivana. He also serves as Chief Financial Officer, Corporate Development Executive, and Board Member at Truck Lagbe. He served as an Investment Advisor at Good Fashion Fund. He is an Angel Investor. Previously, he served as a Chief Financial Officer at Pathao. He also served as Country Representative, in Bangladesh at TAU Investment Management. He has six years of factory experience in Bangladesh, the Middle East, and throughout Southeast Asia, where he has worked as a researcher, consultant, and financial analyst for factories. Before TAU, he was a Research Fellow for the LSE and Oxford economic research program, the International Growth Centre, managing research projects on climate change, tax collection, aquaculture, and database building. For the University of Warwick, he managed an economic intervention study evaluating the impact of training in 55 Bangladeshi garment firms, partnering with Innovations for Poverty Action, the International Finance Corporation, and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). In the private sector, he consulted for several private Bangladeshi factory groups on strategy, merchandising, and capital expansion. In Jordan, he conducted an assessment for the ILO/Better Work on the Garment Workers' Centre in the Al-Hassan Industrial Zone. He is an American-Bangladeshi entrepreneur and investor. He has over a decade of global investment experience across venture capital, private equity, and corporate development. He currently works at Techstars as an Investment Manager, is an active angel through his syndicate RC Ventures, and has served as a venture partner, entrepreneur in residence, and mentor for various VC funds and accelerators. He began his investing career in Private Equity in New York, then in Hong Kong. He holds a BA in Economics from Wesleyan University in Connecticut, and an MPA in International Finance from Columbia University in New York. He was an International Growth Centre Economic Research Fellow from 2010-2012 with the LSE and Oxford University.
