Biography

Ms. Nancy Fechnay serves as a Venture Partner at Gaingels. She served as a Partner at Towerview Ventures. She also serves as an Advisor at Bastion Capital. She also serves as an Impact Venture Advisor at Necessary Ventures. She served as a Venture Advisor at Empath Ventures. She served as a Partner at Flight Ventures. She served as a Partner at Alumni Ventures. She also served as a Board Member at ID Theory. She served as an Advisor and chairman at Prime Flow. She served as Interim Director at Techstars. She oversees their UK/EU operation focusing on large seed or Series A ($3M+) investments. As a mentor and advisor, her expertise spans innovation, strategy, business development, fundraising, and U.S. expansion. She currently advises Techstars and several U.S. and UK seed-stage startups. She has worked for several U.S.-based investment firms, including Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, GE Ventures, and Core Capital Partners. She is the co-founder of Duke Ventures, a venture capital educational and deal-sourcing engine that advises founders on business strategy and highlights the best Research Triangle Park startups to a network of active investors. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Systems Engineering (UVa), an MBA focused on entrepreneurship (Duke), and a MEM focused on energy (Duke).
