Biography

Dr. Nir Barzilai serves as a Venture Partner at quadraScope Venture Fund. He serves as Chief Medical Advisor and Board Member at SirTLab. He was a Co-Founder and served as a Board Member at CohBar. He co-founded the company in 2007 and has served as a member of the board of directors since the conversion to a Delaware corporation in 2009. He is the Director of the Institute for Aging Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University, where he also holds the Ingeborg and Ira Leon Rennert Chair of Aging Research, is a professor in the Departments of Medicine and Genetics and a member of the Diabetes Research Center. He is also Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Human Aging Research and of the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Nathan Shock Centers of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging. He has received numerous awards, including the Beeson Fellow for Aging Research, the Ellison Medical Foundation Senior Scholar in Aging Award, the Paul F. Glenn Foundation Award, the NIA Nathan Shock Award, and the 2010 Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction in Aging Research. He also serves as an Advisory Board Member at LongeVC. Renowned for his significant contributions to advancing the understanding of aging and promoting research in the field, Prof. Nir Barzilai holds the positions of Director of the Institute for Aging Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Human Aging Research, and Director of the National Institutes of Health's (NIH) Nathan Shock Centers of Excellence in the Basic Biology of Aging. Additionally, Prof. Barzilai serves as the Scientific Director of the American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR).
