Biography

Mr. Jigar Patel serves as Managing Director & Investment Portfolio Manager at CIBC Private Wealth Management. He co-heads the hedge fund research efforts within the Multi-Manager Investment Program (MMIP) based in New York. With 17 years of industry experience, he is responsible for managing the MMIP hedge fund platform, which includes an internal multi-strategy fund of funds portfolio and a customized hedge fund portfolio solutions business (CAPS). Prior to joining the firm in 2007, he was a research analyst for Asset Alliance, a $3.2 billion niche strategy-focused hedge fund of funds in New York City. His responsibilities included assisting the chief investment officer in hedge fund portfolio construction and quantitative research for the firm's multi-strategy, long/short equity and CTA-focused fund of funds. Prior to Asset Alliance, he worked as an analyst in the Interest Rate Derivatives Group for Bank of America, where he helped analyze risk for derivative portfolios. He started his career as an institutional equity trader employing quantitative trading strategies with BNY Mellon's Quantitative Equity Trading Group (QETG). He earned a Bachelor of Science in finance from Rutgers University and a Master of Science in financial engineering with honors from the New York University (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
