Biography

Mr. Volker Samonigg served as Co-Head of DACH, France & Southern Europe Business Development at Barings. He served as Managing Director, Business Development & Head at Barings Corporate Investors. He joined Babson in April 2013 and heads the business development in Germany and Austria. Prior to that, Volker worked at Allianz Global Investors for over 11 years in various roles in the cross-border distribution of Allianz's range of funds. During his time there he was responsible for relationship management for multi-national distributors across the EMEA region and was leading the business development in Eastern Europe working both with distributors as well as institutional investors. Before he helped build accounts and infrastructure for fund distributors in Spain, Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. Volker holds an M.B.A. from the European School of Management and Technology, Berlin, a Master's in International Management (CEMS), Vienna/Milan and he graduated from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
