Biography

Mr. Samir Zabaneh serves as Chief Executive Officer & Chairman at TouchBistro. He also served as Chief Financial Officer at Heartland Payment Systems. In his role, he is accountable for all financial aspects of the company, including reporting, treasury, strategic and financial planning, corporate development and investor relations. Prior to joining Heartland, he was Chief Financial and Strategy Officer as well as Chief Operating Officer at Moneris Solutions Corporations. In these roles, he was accountable for all financial aspects of the company, including reporting, treasury, strategic and financial planning and corporate development. He was also accountable for the operations of the company including merchant experience and customer services and delivery. Finally, he was responsible for the development and implementation of Moneris' corporate strategy. Prior to joining Moneris, he was a Managing Director with Fortress Investment Group, a leading global hedge fund and alternative asset management company. Mr. Samir was Chief Financial Officer of Northcastle Trust, an open-ended investment trust managed by Fortress. Previously, he was Chief Financial Officer of Q9 Networks Inc., a leading Canadian Internet infrastructure provider. After joining the company in its early stages, he helped grow the business to the leadership position it enjoys today, including taking the company public on the Toronto Stock Exchange in 2004. His background also includes significant experience in investment banking and mergers and acquisitions transactions gained with Newcourt Capital (now CIT Structured Finance), PricewaterhouseCoopers Securities Inc. and Ernst & Young Corporate Finance Inc.
