Biography

Dr. Dennis Fitzpatrick serves as Chairman & Board Member at Saskatchewan Research Council Employees Pension Plan. He is a Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Regina. He also serves as Chairman at Saskatchewan Research Council. He has held a number of administrative positions, including Vice-President of Research at the Universities of Regina and Lethbridge and was head of the Department of Foods and Nutrition at the University of Manitoba for ten years. Dr. Fitzpatrick served on the executive of a number of scientific societies, including President of the Canadian Federation of Biological Societies and the Canadian Society for Nutritional Sciences. He served as Chair of the Council of Congress for the International Union of Nutritional Sciences 16th International Congress held in Montreal. Dr. Fitzpatrick serves on several national boards, including the Biotechnology Human Resources Council and the National Research Council Committee on International Science, Engineering and Technology, as well as a number of regional initiatives. In 2010, the ASTech Foundation honored him for his Outstanding Contribution to the Alberta Science and Technology Community.
