Biography

Mr. Ignacio Foncillas serves as Board Member at Carbures Europe. Mr. Foncillas served as a Senior Partner at Black Toro Capital. Foncillas has been investing and advising on investments since the start of the crisis in 2007 in Iberia, the United States, and Latin America, mainly for U.S. and Latin American investors. Nacho has worked with JC Flowers II exploring investment opportunities in the Spanish financial institutions space. He has also advised Cap Cana shareholders in their continued rescue and restructuring efforts. Prior to the financial crisis, Nacho was the President and CEO of a private natural resources company, Minera SA., based in New York, Washington D.C. and Panama. He repositioned the company through strategic asset sales generating in excess of $500m and redeployed it back into a portfolio of productive assets in the extractive industries. After law school, Nacho joined Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in 1992 and for 13 years developed and managed its Energy practice, Latin American practice and its Spanish practice. In 2000, he became the youngest partner in the firm's 100+ year history. Nacho was voted as of one the "40 Under 40" by Crain's New York Business in 2003. He received a JD from the University of Chicago Law School in 1992 with honors, magna cum laude, and a BA in Political Sciences with General & Special Honors (magna cum laude) from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the New York Bar and the Law Society of England and Wales. He has extensive board experience in listed and private companies. Nacho is one of the founding partners of Black Toro Capital.
