Ian Metcalfe General Information

Biography

Mr. Ian Metcalfe served as Chief Executive Officer at NovaGo Therapeutics. He also served as a Venture Partner Pureos Bioventures. He served as Investor Relations Officer at Nestle. He has over 20 years of experience focused on healthcare and biotech. During his early career, he successfully raised funds for the start-up Etna Biotech while managing the R&D communications and CSO office for Berna Biotech. Joining Roche in 2005 in Partnering, he then held various positions of increasing responsibility in Investor Relations and Global Product Strategy. In 2010 he moved to Nestlé in Investor Relations and in 2015 he became the lead for business development at Nestlé Health Science for Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Consumer Care products. He returned to Roche in 2017 as the late-stage portfolio lead for partnering and business planning, alongside his role as Head of Basel Site for Portfolio and Product Development Strategy. Prior to joining NovaGo as CEO in 2020, he worked as Chief Operating Officer for Corlieve Therapeutics, a start-up biotech in Basel, Switzerland. He holds a 1st class degree in Applied biology (genetic engineering), and a master's in Marketing from UMIST. Further studies include executive education programs with Harvard Business School, INSEAD, IMD, and Oxford University.
