Biography

Dr. Abraham Havron serves as Board Member at CollPlant Biotechnologies. Dr. Abraham Havron served as Chief Executive Officer and Board Member at OPKO Biologics. He is a 30-year veteran of the biotechnology industry and was a member of the founding team and Director of Research and Development of Interpharm Laboratories (a subsidiary of Serono), which developed the MS drug Rebif, with current sales of more than $1 billion annually; Vice-President Manufacturing and Process-Development of BioTechnology General Ltd., Rehovot, Israel (a subsidiary of Savient Pharmaceuticals); and Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Clal Biotechnology Industries Ltd. Dr. Havron participated in the development of several therapeutic proteins currently in the market, including recombinant Human Growth Hormone (BioTropin), recombinant Hepatitis B Vaccine (Bio-Hep-B), recombinant Beta Interferon (Rebif) and recombinant human Insulin. Dr. Havron earned his Ph.D. in Bio-Organic Chemistry from the Weizmann Institute of Science and served as a Research Fellow in the Harvard Medical School, Department of Radiology.
