Biography
Mr. Alexander Ortiz is a Co-Founder and serves as Chief Investment Officer at Afina Holdings. Prior to co-founding Afina in 2011, Mr. Ortiz was a private client portfolio manager for Chapin Hill Advisors, an independent financial advisory firm with US$65 million in assets under management. He oversaw asset allocation and portfolio reviews for 150 clients. Before that, he was a managing director at the hedge fund HCP Global, where he covered tech and biotech names. He joined from Oppenheimer, where was a proprietary trader for 12 years, with a focus on semiconductors, biotech, and TMT names. Born in Bolivia, he graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Industrial Engineering.
