Biography

Mr. Jim Price is the Founder & serves as Chief Executive Officer at RinkNet. Price's career in the hockey and information technology space spans 5 decades. A graduate of Conestoga College in computer programming, Price turned his attention to a full-time hockey career in 1985 taking on the role of Assistant General Manager of the Hamilton Steelhawks/Niagara Falls Thunder franchise in the Ontario Hockey League. In 1989, Price accepted the position as Director of Information for the Canadian Hockey League and became the first full-time employee of the CHL. He played key roles in the inaugural CHL Top Prospect games, developing the CHL Import draft and launching the first CHL website, amongst other work. In 1998, Price's vision to combine his love for the game with his passion for coding, lead him to develop a scouting platform for the Nashville Predators that he called "RinkNet". Before long, the fledgling startup had become an industry leader and a trailblazer. Over the years Price's work has garnered significant media addition, including being named one of the Top 100 people of power and influence in the sport by The Hockey News.
