Biography

Dr. Tobias Johann is a Co-Founder and serves as a Partner at Rheingau Founders. He is the Founder and serves as a Managing Partner at Leap435. He is also a Co-Founder and serves as Managing Partner at Rheingau Founders. He was a Co-Founder of SportMe. He launched his first profitable company before the beginning of his studies and doctorate in entrepreneurship at the European Business School. While studying, he also launched his first internet startup, sportme, a social community for athletes, with Philipp Hartmann and Kai Hansen in 2007, before going on to create Rheingau Founders together. Since then, he has founded many more startups individually and as part of Rheingau Founders. At Rheingau Founders, he provides portfolio companies with financial, operational, and consultative guidance, mainly in the areas of finance, fundraising, law, and strategy. He is a passionate kite surfer, and is also involved in the Berlin startup scene as a business angel and mentor at Techstars, Axel Springer Plug & Play, Seedcamp, and Microsoft Ventures Accelerator. He served as Chairman at Simplesurance, a board member of Itembase, and formerly Rebuy, Lieferando, and the EBS House of Ventures. He also serves as a Board Member at Medlanes.
